Klaipeda Science and Technology Park (KSTP)

   The Klaipeda Science and technology Park (KSTP) is a mediator between science and business structures. Its task is to enhance communication between science and businesses, increase the level of entrepreneurship and promote development of knowledge based economy in the Klaipeda Region.
 
   Gathering under the roof of KSTP enthusiasts of successful development from Klaipeda City and all of western Lithuania, progressive thinking students full of innovative ideas, post-graduates, entrepreneurs and their enterprises will help to enhance collaboration between science, industry and other branches of economy as well as development of high technology sectors. The KSTP plays an important role in creation and promotion of the city and region image and distinction, and it also sets innovation culture traditions in the region. Therefore, the activity of the Park ensures social connection of science and business institutions: creates the necessary environment for knowledge and technology exchange, sets favorable conditions to provide high value added services, and promotes the scientific and industrial potential of the region.
 
   The mission of the KSTP is to promote the development of modern scientific technologies, provide infrastructural and consulting services for innovative enterprises and business ideas throughout Lithuania and all of  the western and eastern European countries.
 
   Research and development projects in the modern knowledge and innovation based economy are developing rapidly. In the global market competences needed to implement the research and development projects cover a wide range of scientific, administrative and business knowledge. Therefore, the success of research and development projects depends on the competences of the implementation team. Help of local experts in the competitive markets it is not always sufficient, therefore, the KSTP team can support finding required cooperation with foreign specialists. The KSTP is a dynamic international unit ensuring high expert competence and success in project implementation. During the life of the company, KSTP has created a wide and mature partnership network. Employing the collaboration possibilities and considering fields of research and development projects, the Park staff has created a competent and effective expert group: a "KSTP team" necessary for a project implementation.

Coastal Research and Planning Institute (CORPI)
 
   Coastal Research and Planning Institute is a research and education unit within Klaipėda University. It focuses on fundamental and applied scientific research as well as supports PhD studies.
   Main theme of the Institute scientific activity is “Interdisciplinary research for sustainable coastal zone management”.
   It includes:
  • analysis and forecast of the changes in marine environment;
  • development of the scientific background for sustainable management of coastal resources.
    
LCC International University
 
   LCC International University (former Lithuania Christian Fund College) is a nationally and internationally recognized liberal arts institution in the city of Klaipėda, Lithuania. Established in 1991 by a joint venture of Lithuanian, Canadian and American foundations, LCC has distinguished itself in the region by offering a unique, future-oriented style of education and an interactive academic environment. The LCC education places broad-based education within the context of a Christian academic community in order to extend education beyond the classroom. As a part of LCC's vision to prepare students to participate actively in the life of their home communities, the role of each individual in the building of society is emphasized through active participation in community projects and practicums. 
 
Klaipeda Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (KCCIC)
 
   Klaipeda Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (KCCIC) consolidates more than 220 members among which there are the largest companies of the region as well as representatives of the small and medium-size businesses. The Chamber also represents interests in entrepreneurs and business development objectives in Klaipeda and Taurage regions. Promoting exports and the development of small and medium-size businesses, the Chamber takes part in various international projects and programs.
 
   The Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts of Lithuania is a non-state, non-profit self-governmenting entrepreneurial organizations, that effectively participates in the international system of chambers of industry and commerce. Chambers of commerce, industry and crafts operate in five major Lithuanian cities: Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys. They are united under the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, which is a member of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry ("Eurochambers") and the Baltic Sea Chambers of Commerce Association.  
 
   The Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts in Lithuania operate in compliance with the law adopted in 1995; it is the only self-governmenting entrepreneurial organization operating under a separate law. According to the provisions of the law, the membership in the Chamber is voluntary. The principal objective of a Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts is to represent the interests of its members, and render them necessary services.         
 
   Klaipėda Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts unites more than 200 members, that include major enterprises in the region and companies representing medium and small businesses. The Chamber represents the interests of the businessmen of Klaipėda and Tauragė regions, and promotes business development in this part of the country. The Chamber promotes the development of small and medium enterprises, and also export, taking an active part in various international projects and programmes.

Enterprise Europe Network 
 
    Our member organisations include chambers of commerce and industry, technology centres, research institutes and development agencies. Most of them have been supporting local businesses for a long time. They know their clients' strengths and needs - and they know Europe.
 
   As members of the Enterprise Europe Network they are linked up through powerful databases, sharing their knowledge and sourcing technologies and business partners across all Network countries. But they are also closely linked with the European Commission, which enables them to keep abreast of EU policies and to feed small companies' views on them back to Brussels.
 
   Supporting small business is a cornerstone of the EU's drive for growth and jobs. Because 99% of all EU companies are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), accounting for 67% of jobs, what's good for SMEs is good for Europe's economy.
 
   We are co-financed through the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP, 2007-13), an EU funding programme designed to make European companies more competitive. Our services are tailored to SMEs but are also available to all other businesses, universities and research centres. 
 
   The Enterprise Europe Network was launched in February 2008 by the Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry. It builds on the former Euro Info Centre (EIC) and Innovation Relay Centre (IRC) Networks, established in 1987 and 1995 respectively.
 
   Offering the combined services of these highly successful predecessors, and more, we are a true one-stop shop for small businesses. More than 3,000 experienced staff provide you with practical answers to specific questions in your language.

KEDA - Klaipeda Economic Development Agency (KEDA)
 
   Klaipeda Economic Development Agency (KEDA) - public organization supplying business information and consultation services which aim to foster small and medium businesses in the region and contribute to expansion of foreign investment in Klaipeda city.
 
   Main activities:
  • Project documentation preparation to apply for EU financial support.  
  • Preparation of marketing and branding strategies.
  • Organization of trainings and conferences.
  • Supply of business information.
