Klaipeda Science and Technology Park together with the partners kindly invites you 3rd International conference „EastLink 2014“, which taking part on September 23rd - 24th, 2014 in Klaipėda, Lithuania.
The concept of “EastLink” cooperation is based on EU Eastern partnership policy and the EU Central Asia cooperation strategy. The main goal of the conference is to attract business support organizations, science institutions and enterprises for constructive dialogue with the aims to:
- Build a bridge in between Education institutions in the East and West
- Facilitate joint Research projects
- Accelerate technology transfer processes in the Cooperation areas
- Facilitate business partnership for promotion of innovations and foster development of Knowledge Economy.
For 2014 EastLink is set to promote EU research policies and economy trends within EU Eastern partnership area in order to enable joint research projects, business partnerships and smart specialization.
The content axis for 2014 conference is Blue growth strategy. Blue Growth is the long term strategy to support sustainable growth in the marine and maritime sectors as a whole. It recognises that seas and oceans are drivers for the European economy with great potential for innovation and growth. It is the Integrated Maritime Policy's contribution to achieving the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.
Specific issues of Blue growth to be addressed:
- Coastal Planning;
- Clean Shipping Technologies;
- Blue energy.
This year East-Link conference is organized in cooperation with the Coastal and Marine union. The event is linked to 12th coastal conference Littoral 2014 that is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the EUCC Baltic States Office. The participants will get an opportunity to share the results and ideas from their activities in coastal research, conservation and management, and experience the impressive diversity of the southeast Baltic Sea coast. Littoral 2014 will address a wide range of coastal research, conservation and management issues and focus on networking of coastal researchers and practitioners from all over Europe.

While program is still under development there are few spaces left for the high quality speakers and experts to present their ideas and findings. Due the support from the EU and national projects this year event is FREE OF CHARGE, thus more than 200 participants from more than 20 countries are expected.
